Mentoring
EDGE: Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education
The EDGE program is designed to lower the attrition rate of women and minorities in
graduate mathematics. Most participants attend EDGE in the summer before starting a graduate math program. The program offers four week courses in
Algebra and Analysis, a mini-course in an advanced topic, and a number of
talks on current research. I have been privilaged to participate in
the EDGE program as both a student and as a graduate student
mentor.
The Cornell Center for Teaching Excellence
The CTE is a resource at Cornell designed to assist educators at a
variety of levels. I have participated in the workshop certification
program, receiving certifications in Creating an Engaging Classroom and
Enhancing Teaching with Technology. Currently, I am a member of the CTE
Graduate Teaching Assistant Fellow program (formerly the Master TA
program). The primary goal of the Graduate Fellows is to mentor less
experienced TAs.
